Where MYOB was once almost ubiquitous, clever cloud competitors like Xero are agressively adding new customers (both small businesses and accountants) and old competitors like Quickbooks, now offered directly by the massive US software company who has always created the Quickbooks software, Intuit.

MYOB Training Courses

MYOB is now owned by a US private equity company (Bain Capital) and is still considered to be the market leader in Australia. Xero

Xero is a public company with shares listed on both the New Zealand (where they are based) and Australia and one of their major shareholders is the former owner of MYOB. The are internationally focussed and provide solutions to both accountants and international customers (including the US). Intuit Quickbooks

When it was a computer-based software program, Quickbooks was distributed in Australia by Reckon and published by the market leader for accounting software in the US – Intuit. This massive US company has now terminated their previous agreements with Reckon and just like Xero they are approaching Australian businesses directly with a software product that is very good and powerful and building on their strong Add-on market place.
