Reach Accounting

New Reach Accounting Course NOW AVAILABLE!

Part owned by Australia’s Net Registry, Reach Accounting is the latest in cloud-based accounting software, specifically designed with small businesses in mind. Since we began offering online MYOB training courses, we’ve been helping small business owners take control of their accounts, but they had always been restricted to using the Lamborghini of accounting software packages: MYOB.

That is until Reach Accounting entered the fray, offering a low-cost cloud accounting package that’s easy-to-understand, and use; it’s a lot like a Holden, really. But as with a car, before you get in the drivers seat, you need to learn how to drive first—this is where we come in. We have partnered with Reach Accounting to put together a training course that’s as easy-to-understand and use, as the software it’s been created for.

In the Reach Accounting course we’ll take you through the ins and outs of managing the accounts for small business, including:

  1. DIY Accounting: This section contains some videos that will give you a general introduction to accounting and bookkeeping. We go through things such as the Australian tax codes and what these may be used for; debit and credit principals in an accounting sense; and the meaning behind cash and accrual accounting.
  2. Set-up: This section contains information critical to the operation of your business. It includes things such as setting up your company information, chart of accounts, preferences, and your payment information. This information gives you a good base of knowledge to understand why more advanced features of the software work the way they do.
  3. Daily Transactions: This section is all about what you may encounter on a typical day-to-day basis when using Reach Accounting software. In this section we go into further detail about things like how to enter a new supplier and a customer’s contact details; emailing your newly created invoice; and we also talk about source documentation and go into even further detail by way of running reports.
  4. Bank Transactions: The major purpose of this section is to go through a typical and simple scenario for reconciling accounts including sales and bank fees. This also shows you around the reconciliation screen and how to delete recorded reconciliations.
  5. Payroll: This section contains information critical to the employees and the payroll function of your business. It includes things such as entering or editing employee information; navigation throughout the payroll screen; and payment of your obligations. This information gives you a good base of knowledge of the functions and operations of business payroll.

If you enroll in our Reach Accounting course for small business owners, you’re eligible for a free student Reach Account to use while you’re completing the course.
